Her Story

Suinila belongs to the Maram Tribal Community in Manipur. She is a trained nurse by profession and is very passionate about spreading menstrual awareness, especially among

She has had first-hand experience of the challenges faced by women living in such areas. Suinila understands the need to educate them about menstrual hygiene and give them better access to menstrual management products. She strongly believes that it is also important to teach the girls about the science behind periods to help them break the taboos around them. There are lots of women even in the towns ashamed of the words (MANGBA) which means menstruation.

Previously, Suinila and her team have been able to reach out to more than 2000 women from over 25 villages in Manipur and distributed more than 20000 sanitary pads. Their aim is to reach more and more girls in the future with period education.
